Abstract

Tato práce se zabývá překladem a překladatelským komentářem dvou vybraných kapitol z publikace On Writing and Worldbuilding: Volume I (2019). Autorem je Timothy Hickson. První z kapitol se věnuje předjímání, jeho druhy a využití, druhá tvorbě polyteistických náboženství a jejich zákonitostmi. Autor příklady ilustruje na dílech fantastiky. Následuje překladatelský komentář skládající se ze dvou částí: analýzy výchozího textu a přehledu překladatelských problémů a jejich řešení.

This thesis is dealing with translation of two selected chapters from On Writing and Worldbuilding: Volume I (2019) and a commentary of said translation. The book was written by Timothy Hickson. The former chapter is dedicated to foreshadowing and its subtypes, and its uses whereas the latter discuses polytheistic religions, its creation, and general rules. The author uses examples from fantastical literature as a mean to demonstrate described techniques. Following is a commentary of the translation consisting of two parts: analysis of the original text and the overview of translation problems and their solutions.
