Master's thesis "Climate Policy of the European Union in the years 2009 - 2021" focuses on changes in the climate policy of the European Union in the selected time period with emphasis on its internal dimension. Since its inception in the previous century, the European Union's climate policy has undergone significant changes, which remain present during the term of office of the 7th and 8th European Parliaments. The first part of the thesis adresses current state of the global climate and clarifies the choice of topic, points to its topicality and urgency. Global climate change is indeed an essential issue in today's global society. In addition, scientific studies show that if humanity is to avoid irreversible damage, the fight against the negative effects of climate change must be stepped up. In the following chapters we name the theoretical basis for the subsequent analysis of policy changes, confirming or refuting selected hypotheses about the integration of the climate sector. The aim of this work is to contribute to the debate on European integration by analysing changes in the European Union's climate policy and their subsequent exposure to hypotheses based on specific theoretical approaches, as well as a reminder of the seriousness of the global climate state.
