antifa, antifascism, USA, Charlottesville, democrats, republicans, New York Times, Fox NewsPředložená bakalářská práce se zabývá vztahem předních politických představitelů velkých stran v USA s hnutím antifa, a to především reakcí sledovaných předních politiků na události srpna 2017 v Charlottesville na účast hnutí antifa při demonstraci proti pořádané Unite the Right rally. Práce nejprve seznamuje čtenáře s historií antifašistického boje ve Spojených státech až po vznik prvních organizovaných sítí aktivistických buněk a přechod od ARA k AFA. Následně je v práci popsána organizační příprava účastníků srpnových událostí a jejich přímý průběh 11. a 12. srpna. Ve výzkumné části práce jsou analyzovány příspěvky sledovaných politických představitelů uveřejněné na sociální síti Twitter, především tedy jejich okamžitá reakce, a poté jsou analyzovány články uveřejněné krátce po události ve vybraných médiích a to zvláště to, jakým způsobem informovaly o hnutí antifa a jeho účasti na dění. Title Antifa group in the USA and its relation to mainstream politics Annotation The presented bachelor thesis deals with the relationship of leading political figures of the major two political parties in the United States and the antifa movement, especially their reaction to the events of August 2017 in Charlottesville and the participation of antifa in the counterprotests against the Unite the Right rally. The paper first presents to the reader with the history of the antifascist movement in the United States up to the emergence of the first organized networks of the activist cells and the transition from ARA to AFA. Subsequently, the paper describes the preparation, organization and the actual events of August 11th and 12th. The research section of the paper analyzes firstly statements posted by the monitored political leaders on the Twitter social media, specifically their immediate reaction to the events. Secondly, articles published shortly after the events on selected news websites were analyzed, specifically how they informed about the antofa movement and its participation.
