Spolek českých akademiků židů

Abstract

(in English): This bachelor thesis is focused on the topic of The Association of Czech Academic Jews. This Czech-Jewish association was established as an academic organization to ease the assimilation of the Jewish population into the Czech nation, which remained as the main purpose throughout its existence. The first chapter deals with the history of Jews in the Czech lands from the time of Maria Theresa to the end of the 19th century, including a description of anti-Semitism and the newly emerging Jewish direction of Zionism at the end of the 19th century. The second chapter describes the rules and laws which the associations had to follow in the Habsburg Monarchy. The third chapter concerns The Association of Czech Academic Jews itself. The presentation of its origin is followed by the description of the association's history until the end of the 19th century. The next part deals with the beginning of the 20th century and the situation during the First World War. This is followed by the list of honorary members of the association.

(česky): Bakalářská práce se zabývá tématem Spolku českých akademiků židů. Tento českožidovský spolek, jako akademická organizace, si kladl za cíl zasadit se o asimilaci židovského obyvatelstva k českému národu, o což usiloval během celé své existence. První kapitola pojednává o historii židů na českém území od doby Marie Terezie do konce 19. století včetně popisu antisemitismu a nově vzniklého židovského směru sionismu na konci 19. století. Druhá kapitola se věnuje popisu spolkového života v habsburské monarchii, zákonům a nařízením, kterými se spolky musely řídit. Třetí kapitola se týká samotného Spolku českých akademiků židů. Po představení jeho vzniku následuje popis spolkové historie do konce 19. století. Další část se věnuje počátku 20. století a situaci během první světové války. Poté následuje seznam čestných členů spolku.
