Počiatky vlády Žigmunda Luxemburského na uhorskom tróne vo svetle uhorských kroník

Abstract

This bachelor thesis focuses on the personage of Sigismund of Luxembourg, the Holy Roman Emperor, during the period before his reign in the Kingdom of Hungary and in his beginnings as the Hungarian ruler, with regards to his portrayals in the chosen Hungarian chronicles of the 14th and 15th century. The thesis tries to compare facts about Sigismund's live and personality as presented in the Chronica Hungarorum by Johannes de Thurocz, in the Chronicle by Master Jan of Šarišské Sokolovce and in the Chronicle of Spišská Sobota. The aim of this thesis is to uncover how Sigismund's depiction in those chronicles affected the negative narrative which is usually connected with the emperor. The thesis would also like to help to establish the significance of Sigismund's social milieu at the Bohemian and Hungarian royal court and its influence on his decisions. Predkladaná bakalárska práca sa venuje osobnosti Žigmunda Luxemburského v období predchádzajúcom jeho panovaniu a počiatkom jeho vlády v Uhorsku v zobrazení vybraných uhorských kronikárov 14. a 15. storočia. Práca sa snaží o porovnanie podávania faktov o Žigmundovi v Kronike magistra Jána zo Šarišských Sokoloviec, Kronike Jána z Turca a Spišskosobotskej kronike anonymného autora. Cieľom práce je posúdenie vplyvu kronikármi uvádzaných faktov na tvorbu negatívneho naratívu o Žigmundovi. Táto práca by tiež rada prispela k zisteniu dôležitosti vplyvu Žigmundovho okolia na českom a poťažmo uhorskom kráľovskom dvore na jeho rozhodnutia.
