Abstract

Výroba knoflíku z perleti, jako oděvního doplňku, má v Čechách dlouhou tradici. V průběhu let se tato výroba soustředila do jednoho centra u nás, do města Žirovnice. Zpočátku řemeslná výroba s velkým podílem ruční práce se v průběhu druhé poloviny 20. století změnila ve výrobu tovární. S postupnými hospodářskými změnami ve světě, kdy došlo k vysokému zdražení perleti a její nedostupnosti, se výroba knoflíků z perleti u nás omezuje a je nahrazována výrobou z jiných surovin. Snahou výrobců knoflíků v Žirovnici, jako jediné společnosti u nás, je vyrobit knoflík z perleti umělé.

The production of shell buttons as a part of a clothing accessory has a long tradition in the Bohemia. In the past the production was situated into one centre - the Žirovnice city. At first it was a technical production with a big share of handmade work which changed to the factory production during the second half of the twentieth century. With other economical changes in the world, when the shell became more expensive and scarce, the production of shell buttons was reduced and replaced by the production from other resources. Producers of shell buttons in Žirovnice, which is the only one company here, try to make a button from artificial shell.
