Abstract

Adam Zboroň Forest, water and field mythological creatures of the West Slavs Abstract The goal of this Bachelor's thesis is to present the issue of the mythological entities which inhabit the environment of the forest, fields and waters, and how they conceived among the western Slavs - frequently using the comparative materials from all the Slavic countries. The core of this thesis is dedicated to some of the most important entities of every single environment and their characteristics, known from the folklore. The framework of this thesis is based on the phenomenon of the borders between the enviroments, competences and different type of origins of the supernatural entities within the folklore and Slavic culture. The rituals and concepts of the folklore are the main sources of our effort to locate the function of these beings in everyday life and in their natural environments. To sum it up, this thesis should clarify the conception of supernatural entities among the western Slavs with emphasis on their origin, their territories and the borders between them.

Adam Zboroň Mytologické bytosti lesov, vôd a polí u Západných Slovanov Abstrakt Cieľom tejto bakalárskej práce je priblížiť čitateľovi problematiku mytologických entít, obývajúcich lesy, polia a vodstvá tak, ako bola ponímaná v západoslovanskom prostredí, pričom sa však neustále opiera o ich obdoby v celom slovanskom priestore. Základné jadro práce je venované konkrétnym a základným bytostiam, obývajúcim jednotlivé zóny, ich hlavným charakteristikám a pôsobeniu, tak ako ho dochovala a opísala ľudová kultúra. Celá práca je potom rámcovaná fenoménom samotných hraníc prostredí, či kompetencii a témou pôvodu týchto prírodných entít, so zreteľom na konkrétne povery a princípy ich vzniku v ľudovej kultúre. Práve ľudová kultúra, predstavy a rituály budú východiskovým bodom, prostredníctvom ktorého sa budeme snažiť priblížiť začlenenie bytostí do rámcov každodenného života, či širších celkov prírodných zákonitostí. Hranice, charakteristika a vznik prírodných bytostí, teda sú akýmisi základnými bodmi, ktorými sa táto práca zaoberá a ktoré z viacerých uhlov pohľadu objasňuje.
