Komentovaný překlad: Rebecca Mead, Margaret Atwood, the Prophet of Dystopia. New Yorker, April 17, 2019

Abstract

This bachelor thesis focuses on the translation of the article Margaret Atwood, the Prophet of Dystopia from English to Czech. The article was published in April 2017 in The New Yorker magazine and is written by Rebecca Mead. Its main topic is the life and literary work of the Canadian novelist Margaret Atwood. The thesis consists of two parts, the first being the translated text itself and the second a commentary on the translation. The commentary includes an analysis of the translated text as well as a description of my translation method. It also adresses the main translation problems, their solutions, the applied translation procedures and the translation shifts resulting from them. Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá překladem článku Margaret Atwood, the Prophet of Dystopia z angličtiny do češtiny. Článek vyšel v dubnu 2017 v časopise The New Yorker, autorkou je Rebecca Meadová. Jeho tématem je život a dílo kanadské spisovatelky Margaret Atwoodové. Práce je rozdělena do dvou částí. První z nich je samotný přeložený text. Druhou je odborný komentář k tomuto překladu, který obsahuje překladatelskou analýzu textu dle modelu Christiany Nordové, popis metody překladu a pojednání o překladatelských problémech, jejich řešeních a překladatelských postupech a posunech.
