My objective in this work is to ascertain how often and in what way Czech politicians and political parties were represented within news reports of the break up of Czechoslovakia. For this purpose, I'm examining the content of two Czech nation-wide dailies, Lidove noviny and Rude pravo. The research covers the time period stretching from October 1992 to March 1993, representing the three months before and the three months following the actual separation. My hypothesis is that Rude pravo preferred the opposition parties, which were unsympathetic to the split. On the other hand, I supposed that Lidove noviny would be favorably inclined to the coalition parties as well as Vaclav Havel. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)
