Popovice: Stručná historie obce v letech 1884 - 1939

Abstract

The bachelor thesis focuses on Popovice parish history considering it being in the southern part of the former Benešov County. The period observed is from 1884 to 1939. The main targets of the present thesis are local municipal politics, social and economic structure of the village dependent on nature and life of the society in Popovice and neighbouring villages. These were in close market connection and relationship with Popovice inhabitants. The bachelor thesis consists of two parts. The first part was inspired mainly by the oldest source, the parish chronicle, showing life and circumstances in the village and its adjoining settlements before the World War I. One of the most important events, influencing not only lives of the inhabitants of Popovice, was Chotýšanka flood in 1906.The second part concentrates on the period after the World War I and before the World War II started.The aim of the present thesis is to cover the village development during the specified period, efforts to record people's reactions to important events influencing their lives. On the other hand the thesis endeavours to show the scene of the life in the village with its ups and downs.

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá historii obce Popovice, která se nachází v jižní části bývalého okresu Benešov. Zachyceno je období v rozmezí let 1884-1939. Hlavním tématem práce bude zdejší komunální politika, sociální a hospodářské složení obce v závislosti na přírodě a také spolkový život v Popovicích a sousedních vesnicích, které byly v těsném tržním a příbuzenském spojení s obyvateli Popovic. Práce se skládá ze dvou hlavních částí. První část čerpá informace hlavně z farní kroniky a snaží se ukázat život a sociální poměry ve vesnici a jejích osadách před první světovou válku. Velká pozornost bude věnována události, jež výrazně ovlivnila život nejen obyvatel Popovic, a tou byla povodeň na Chotýšance v roce 1906. Druhá část se věnuje osudům místních obyvatel v období mezi dvěma světovými válkami. Cílem této práce je zachytit reakci obyvatelstva na významné místní a světodějné události a také zachytit každodenní obraz života na vsi se všemi jeho problémy a radostmi.
