Konceptuální umění a otázka estetické hodnoty

Abstract

Abstrakt Bakalářské práce Konceptuální umění a otázka estetické hodnoty si klade za cíl analyzovat problematiku estetické hodnoty v rámci jedné současné reprezentativní teorie konceptuálního umění (text Petera Goldieho a Elisabeth Schellekensové). Estetická hodnota byla ve výtvarném umění tradičně spojována s oceňováním materiálního objektu díla; konceptuální díla však roli tradičních médií odmítají a nahrazují je dematerializovanou myšlenkou - idejí. Aby konceptuální díla mohla setrvat v doméně umění, je nutné hledat jejich estetickou hodnotu na jiném místě. V první části práce je tak po vymezení základních rysů a ideje konceptuálního umění představen způsob, jakým Goldie a Schellekensová tradičně vnímané estetické kvality nahrazují. To se autorům daří na základě analogie literárních děl a konceptuálních děl, pomocí které vymezují novou kategorii zkušenostních kvalit. Rozlišujícím prvkem mezi literaturou a konceptuálními díly se pak stává jejich ne/ parafrázovatelnost. Jak se ale ukáže, toto rozlišení vytváří problém vztahu mezi ideou a hodnotou díla. Na základě této analogie text v druhém kroku postoupí k pojetí recepce literatury Jana Mukařovského, který identifikoval coby bytostný rys umění sémantické gesto. Abstract The bachelor thesis Conceptual Art and a Problem of Aesthetic Value aims to analyze the problem of aesthetic value within one contemporary representative theory of conceptual art (text by Peter Goldie and Elisabeth Schellekens). In the visual arts the aesthetic value has traditionally been associated with the evaluation of the material object of the artwork; however, conceptual works reject the role of traditional media and replace them with the dematerialized ideas. In order for the conceptual works to remain in the domain of art, it is necessary to seek their aesthetic value elsewhere. In the first part of the thesis, after defining the basic features of conceptual art and its idea, the way of how Goldie and Schellekens replace traditional aesthetic qualities is presented. This is done on the basis of an analogy of literary works and conceptual works, through which they define a new category of experiental qualities. To set the distinction between literature and conceptual artworks Goldie and Schellekens identify the possibility of evaluation of the conceptual artwork on the basis of its description.
