Vznik a vývoj Irské republiky v první polovině 20. století

Abstract

Práce se primárně věnuje otázce vzniku a vývoji Irské republiky v politickém slova smyslu. Pro lepší pochopení klíčových událostí, jako je Velikonoční povstání či válka o nezávislost, je ponechán prostor pro vysvětlení předchozího historického a politického kontextu. Ten zahrnuje i stručný nástin irsko-britských vztahů ze starší historie tohoto soužití. Pro práci ovšem budou stěžejní události především z počátku 20. století. Důraz je kladen na irské vnímání republiky a jeho proměny v průběhu revolučních let plných potíží. Podrobně bude sledovat vývoj v časovém úseku 1916-1923. Práce bude zakončena vysvětlením různých přístupů k Irské republice a bude poukázáno na skutečnosti, které se od Velikonočního povstání změnily, a které naopak přetrvaly jako odkaz zakladatelů Irské republiky. This thesis focuses primarily on the question of establishment and development of the Irish Republic in a political sense. For a better understanding of the key events such as Easter Rising or War of Independence, space is left for an explanation of previous historical and politics context which encompasses a brief outline of relations between Ireland and Britain in the earlier history of their stance. The thesis itself will be primarily concerned with the events that occurred slightly before and after the beginning of the 20th century. Emphasis is put on the importance of the Irish understanding of the Republic and its changes during the revolution years full of strikes. We will proceed to analyse the period between years 1916- 1923. The whole thesis ends with an explanation of various approaches of the republic and points out facts which changed since Easter Rising and on what remained unchanged as a legacy of founders of the Irish Republic.
