Teoretická část popisuje historický vývoj konceptu bazální stimulace v České republice a Evropě, podstatu konceptu bazální stimulace, jeho teoretická východiska a prvky, jež využívá. Dále se práce zabývá specifiky v intenzivní péči a využitím konceptu bazální stimulace v intenzivní péči. Empirická část práce vychází z kvantitativního průzkumného šetření realizovaného na základě originálního anonymního dotazníku. Respondenty byly všeobecné sestry z oddělení intenzivní péče v ONN a.s. Hlavním cílem této práce bylo zmapovat, v jaké míře je koncept bazální stimulace na odděleních intenzivní péče využíván a zda je z pohledu všeobecných sester vnímán jako efektivní.
