Abstract

Analýza věkové struktury hráčů Premier League Abstrakt Cílem této bakalářské práce je popsat věkovou strukturu hráčů v Premier League. V datovém souboru bylo více než 14 000 pozorování od sezóny 1992/93 do sezóny 2017/18. Vzhledem k tomu, že demografie sportu je spíše okrajové téma demografie je v teoretickém rámci představen tento podobor demografie. Další literatura se zabývá vrcholovým věkem fotbalistů počátky fotbal v Anglii včetně novodobé historie od ročníku 1992/93. V analytické části je použita deskriptivní statistika, jednovýběrový t-test a ANOVA. Kromě celkové analýzy věkové struktury byla zkoumána ještě věková struktura domácích hráčů a cizinců. V práci se ukázalo, že vážený průměr všech hráčů v jednotlivých sezónách Premier League je signifikantně rozdílný od toho teoretického. Navíc cizinci jsou starší než domácí hráči. Důležitým objevem je nalezení generací fotbalistů. Klíčová slova: demografie sportu, věková struktura, Premier League

Analysis of age structure of Premier League players Abstract The aim of this thesis is to describe the age structure of players in the Premier League. There were more than 14,000 observations from the 1992/93 season to the 2017/18 season in the dataset. Given that sport demography is rather a marginal theme of demography, this sub discipline of demography is presented in the theoretical framework. Other literature deals with the top age of footballers beginning football in England, including modern history since 1992/93. In the analytical part is used descriptive statistics, one-sample t-test and ANOVA. In addition to the overall age structure analysis, was also examined the age structure of domestic players and foreigners. The work showed that the weighted average age of all players in each Premier League season is significantly different from the theoretical one. In addition, foreigners are older than domestic players. Finding generations of football players is an important discovery. Key words: sport demography, age structure, Premier League
