Koncept národního verše v české a zahraniční versologii 19. a 20. století - otázky, problémy, polemiky

Abstract

The chief subject of this dissertation is a description of the reflections on the poetry of 19th and 20th century, in connection with questions of national identity, national self-confidence, tradition and openness to European space. I deal with the question, how these topics are (often unconsciously) reflected in the prosodic debates of certain periods (especially during the Czech National Revival or at the time of the formation of independent Czechoslovakia) and how influence the views on how the Czech verse looks or should look, for what purposes poetry is to serve or what threatens the national literature and language. I also follow the changes in the relation of the theory of verse to the poetry itself and compare the concept of the verse and its basic categories in Czech and international theory. This work is composed of four isolated parts, relatively independent of each other. These are partial probes on selected topics from the history of Czech and foreign literature and its reflection. The first chapter focuses on the syllabotonic reform of the Czech verse and on the motivation, which led to its acceptance or rejection. Tématem této práce jsou úvahy o verši 19. a 20. století v souvislosti s otázkami národní identity, národního sebevědomí, tradice a otevřenosti vůči evropskému prostoru. Zkoumá, jak se tato témata mnohdy nereflektovaně odrážejí v prozodických debatách určitých období (zejména za národního obrození a v době utváření samostatného Československa) a ovlivňují názory na to, jak vypadá či by měl vypadat český verš, k jakým účelům má sloužit poezie či co národní literaturu a její jazyk ohrožuje. Sleduje také proměny ve vztahu teorie verše k samotné básnické tvorbě a porovnává pojetí verše a jeho základních kategorií v české a zahraniční teorii. Práci tvoří čtyři relativně oddělené části, které jsou dílčími sondami do vybraných témat z historie české a zahraniční literatury a myšlení o ní. První kapitola se zaměřuje na sylabotónickou reformu českého verše a motivace, které vedly k jejímu přijetí i odmítání. Jsou zkoumány důvody, které přiměly část autorů k sylabizujícímu rozvolnění Dobrovského pravidel a jiné k pokusům o nastolení časomíry. Samostatně je zkoumána otázka českého jambu, která se v teoretických diskusích opakovaně vrací mnohdy nezávisle na básnické tvorbě, avšak, jak se zdá, v jisté souvislosti s pocitem ohrožení národní identity, který doprovází některá dějinná období.
