The main part of the thesis provides an overview and critical evaluation of modern studies' results that are focused on the role of psychosocial factors in the development of OCD. Main attention is paid to influences of family environment as well as stressful and traumatic life events. The last part of the thesis presents a proposal of a research project which aims to gain more evidence that parenting styles and stressful life events are related to the development of OCD.
