Analýza vztahů mezi Táiwanem a Čínskou lidovou republikou od druhé poloviny 80. let 20. století do současnosti

Abstract

The aim of this thesis is to explain the dynamic of Taiwanese foreign policy in relation to the Peoples Republic of China since the late 1980s to the present by using three theoretical traditions of international relations. To that end, several hypotheses will be formulated after analysing these traditions (realist, liberal and constructivist) and then applied on the subject of this research. The dependent variable was identified as the conflictive attitude of Taiwanese foreign policy in a given time period. In terms of methodology this is a case study. This research is divided into four chapters the first of which analyses the above mentioned theoretical traditional. The second part briefly describes the historical context necessary to understand the problematic nature of Taiwanese national identity. The third chapter analyses Taiwanese foreign policy in relation to China during time periods representing the terms of office of three democratic presidents of Taiwan. The last fourth chapter is to the analysis of independent variables and the evaluation of hypotheses. Cílem této práce je vysvětlit vývoj taiwanské zahraniční politiky vůči Čínské lidové republice od demokratizace ostrova na konci 80. let minulého století do současnosti pomocí tří velkých teoretických tradic mezinárodních vztahů. Za tímto účelem boudou na základě analýzy těchto tradic (realistické, liberální a konstruktivistické) formulovány hypotézy a ty budou následně aplikovány na předmět tohoto výzkumu. Za závislou proměnnou byla určena míra konfliktnosti zahraniční politiky v daném období. Z metodologického hlediska se tedy jedná o případovou studii. Práce je rozdělena do čtyř kapitol, z nichž první analyzuje zmíněné teoretické tradice. Druhá stručně popisuje historický kontext nutný k pochopení problematiky taiwanské národní identity. Třetí kapitola analyzuje taiwanskou zahraniční politiku vůči Číně během období odpovídajících vládě tří demokratických prezidentů Taiwanu. Poslední čtvrtá kapitola je pak věnována analýze nezávislých proměnných a vyhodnocení jednotlivých hypotéz. Tento výzkum ukázal, že ani jedna z testovaných teorií není schopna dostatečně vysvětlit vývoj zahraniční politiky Taiwanu ve zkoumaném období.
