Simón Bolívar očima G. Garcíi Márqueze

Abstract

(in English) In my bachelor thesis, I focus on the period of struggles for independence in Latin America that began in the first half of the 19th century. In particular, I describe the legendary figure of Simón Bolívar's independence movement, whose legacy is still recognized and revered in Latin America. First I will describe Bolívar's biography and specify historical events that have had an impact on his life. I will try briefly to explain the progress and gain of independence. I will come closer to Bolívar in the work of "The General in his Labyrinth" in which Colombian author Gabriel G. Márquez, who portrays the last months of his life. It is not only Bolivar as a historical person, but as a man whose size and glory did not help escape from loneliness and abandonment in the last moments of his life. The aim of my work is to approach Bolívar's life from the point of view of Márquez. It is a connection between the typical theme of loneliness of Márquez in the historical context.

(česky) Ve své bakalářské práci se zaměřuji na období bojů za nezávislost v Latinské Americe, které započaly v první polovině 19. století. Vylíčím zejména legendární postavu hnutí za nezávislost Simóna Bolívara, jehož odkaz je dodnes uznáván a ctěn v Latinské Americe. Nejdříve popíšu Bolívarovu biografii a specifikuji historické události, které měly vliv na jeho život. Následně se pokusím krátce vysvětlit průběh získání nezávislosti. Blíže se budu věnovat Bolívarovi v díle Generál ve svém labyrintu, ve kterém kolumbijský autor Gabriel García Márquez zachycuje poslední měsíce jeho života. Nezaobírá se pouze Bolívarem jako historickou osobností, nýbrž jako člověkem, kterému ani jeho velikost a sláva nepomohly uniknout od samoty a opuštění v posledních okamžicích jeho života. Cílem mé práce bude přiblížit se problematice Bolívarova života z pohledu Márqueze. Jde o propojení Márquezova typického tématu samoty a historického kontextu.
