Izraelský politický systém jako konsociační demokracie?

Abstract

(anglicky) The aim of the work is to introduce the model of consociational democracy created by A. Lijphart, Dutch's political scientist, as one of the possible constructs for establishing and maintaining democracy in the segmented societies. This model is applied to Israel, which for reasons that the work also deals with, can be termed socially segmented. The application of model focuses exclusively on the four characteristics of the consociational democracy, as defined by Democracy in Plural Societies (1977). The results of this application are, in the end, compared to the thesis that calls Israel a semi-consociational democracy.

(česky) Cílem práce je čtenáři představit model konsociační demokracie, vytvořený nizozemským politologem A. Lijphartem jako jeden z možných konstruktů pro zavedení a udržení demokracie v segmentovaných společnostech. Model je aplikován na Izrael, který z důvodů, kterým se práce taktéž věnuje, lze označit za společensky segmentovaný. Aplikace modelu se výhradně zaměřuje na čtyři znaky konsociační demokracie, které autor stanovil ve své práci Democracy in Plural Societies (1977). Výsledky této aplikace jsou na závěr komparovány s tezí, která označuje Izrael za semi-konsociační demokracii.
