Historicko-duchovné korene benediktínskeho hnutia

Abstract

Práca sa zaoberá hľadaním historických koreňov a súvislostí, ktoré viedli Benedikta z Nursie, nazývaného otcom západného mníšstva, k vzniku Regule. Spracúva rôzne počiatočné štádia mníšstva vzniknuté na Východe a myšlienky, na ktorých takýto spôsob života vznikol. Podáva prehľad postojov kľúčových postáv, ktoré stáli pri jeho vzniku. Práca analyzuje prechod mníšstva na Západ a reprezentatívne osobnosti udávajúce smer jeho ďalšieho vývoja. Všetky tieto prvky komparuje s mníšskym poňatím aké sa nachádza u Benedikta z Nursie. V ďalšej časti práca rozoberá Benediktov život podľa diela pápeža Gregora I. Veľkého. Predkladaný životopis skúma predovšetkým v rovine historicko-duchovnej a odhaľuje skrytú symboliku, ktorá sa za textom účelovo skrýva. Záverečná kapitola obsahuje porovnanie spoločných a rozdielných znakov medzi Regulou Benedicti a Regulou Magistri. Čerpajúc z Benediktovej Regule podáva hlavné prvky benediktínskeho mníšstva.

The work deals with the search for the historical roots and connections that have led Benedict of Nursia, called the father of the Western monkhood, to the establishment of the Regule. It compiles different stages of monkhood from the origin in the East and thoughts which are the basis of this way of life. It provides an overview of key attitudes that stood at its origin. The work analyzes the passage of the monk to the West and important people who have indicated the direction of its further development. All these elements compares with the monastic concept of Benedict of Nursia. The next part of the work deals with the Benedict's life according to the work of Pope, Gregor I. The Great. This biography is studied mostly in the historical and spiritual plane and it reveals the hidden symbolism behind the lines. The final chapter contains a comparison of the same signs and also the differences between the Regula Benedicti and Regula Magistri. The Regula Benedicti provides the main elements of the Benedictine monkhood.
