dc.description.abstract | The methodological paper considers the possibility of interpreting folk chronicles from the turn ofthe 19th century. It addresses the question of how one can interpret what are often stodgy and unoriginalexcerpts from foreign books that were widely used by the peasant scribes. It cites the exampleof a peasant scribe and village magistrate, Josef Dlask, whose chronicle saw the light of day recently, for the first time in a unabridged edition. | en |
