Britská politika vůči Palestině (1945─1948) ve vnitřních proměnách Egypta a Iráku k počátku padesátých let

Abstract

Palestinská otázka patřila ve druhé polovině čtyřicátých let k nejvýraznějším úkazům ovlivňujícím blízkovýchodní poměry. Velká Británie určovala pravidla chodu mandátu a měla za úkol připravit obyvatelstvo na státoprávní suverenitu. Současně hledala východisko z místního arabsko-židovského napětí. Egyptští a iráčtí monarchisté se současně nacházeli pod trvalým tlakem lidové nespokojenosti s jejich poměrem k Velké Británii i způsobem vedení země. Britská politika vůči Palestině a její důsledky v letech 1945–1948 spoluurčovaly dynamiku vnitřního vývoje Egypta a také Iráku.

One of the most distinctive phenomenas which shaped situation in the Middle East whithin the Forties, was the question of Palestine. Great Britain was assigned to prepare Palestinian population for souvereign statehood and governed the law and order of the mandate. At the same time, Britain sought a solution to cease the tension between Jews and the Arabs. Persisting popular dissatisfaction with ruling classes in Egypt and Iraq was connected with royalist’s way how to manage the both countries and with official attitude towards Great Britain. British policy towards Palestine in 1945−1948 and its consequences co-determined dynamic of inner development of Egypt and Iraq.
