Abstract

"Moodle in teaching biology" The topic of this thesis "Moodle in teaching biology" introduces various possibilities of using e-learning in the subject of biology at primary and secondary schools. In particular, it focuses on the use of a specific learning management system "Moodle" in teaching the biology subject. In the theoretical part of the thesis, e-learning is considered as a rapidly evolving field of education and further on LMS Moodle is characterized and its main tools are described and explained in detail. In the methodological part of the thesis, each of the Moodle tools is presented with particular examples from practice as they can be used in teaching biology. A number of photographs which record specific samples of my lessons and courses are enclosed to the methodological part as well. The practical part of the thesis includes the results of a survey that was conducted among a number of teachers of biology at primary and secondary schools. This section is supplemented by charts that summarize all the results of the survey. Key words: E-learning, Moodle, LMS, open-source

Diplomová práce na téma Moodle ve výuce biologie nás seznamuje s možnostmi využití e-learningu v předmětu biologie na základních a středních školách. Zejména se zaměřuje na využití výukového prostředí Moodle ve výuce předmětu biologie. Teoretická část nahlíží na e-learning jako rychle se vyvíjející oblast vzdělávání a na Moodle jako takový, charakterizuje ho a popisuje jeho hlavní nástroje. Součástí je didaktická část, kde jsou jednotlivé nástroje Moodle představovány na konkrétních příkladech z praxe, jak je lze využít při výuce biologie. Didaktická část je doplněna o množství fotografií, které zaznamenávají konkrétní ukázku kurzu. Praktická část zahrnuje výsledky dotazníkového šetření, které bylo prováděno mezi učiteli biologie na základních a středních školách. Tato část je doplněna o grafy, které shrnují výsledky dotazníkového šetření. Klíčová slova: E-learning, Moodle, LMS, open-source
