Klade si za cíl přinést základní informace o problematice kochleární implantace a následné logopedické péči, uvádí základní metody a zásady pro práci s dětmi, podložené praktickými cvičeními. První část práce, obsahující spíše teoretické informace, shrnuje poznatky týkající se sluchového postižení, kochleárního implantátu, období před implantací a celého rehabilitačního procesu v době po implantaci, včetně následné logopedické péče. Druhá, výzkumná část práce, je zaměřena na výsledky logopedické péče a rozvoj řeči u dětí s kochleárním implantátem a obsahuje případové studie tří dětí zpracované pomocí metod kvalitativního výzkumu, konkrétně metod pozorování a rozhovoru.
