Zkušenosti psychiatrických pacientů s použitím omezovacích prostředků

Abstract

Tato práce se zaměřuje na analýzu zkušeností psychiatrických pacientů s použitím omezovacích prostředků, které se používají ve zdravotnických zařízeních k ochraně pacientů i personálu. Přestože tyto metody mohou být v určitých situacích nezbytné pro zajištění bezpečnosti, jejich používání představuje složitý a eticky náročný problém. Cílem této práce je pokusit se poskytnout ucelenější pohled na používání omezovacích prostředků, a především toho, jak pacienti vnímají omezovací prostředky, jestli a jak tento zásah ovlivňuje jejich duševní a fyzické zdraví. Práce vychází z kvalitativního výzkumu, který zahrnuje rozhovory s pacienty, kteří se s metodami omezování pohybu setkali a také na analýze příslušné odborné literatury na toto téma. Výsledky naznačují, že ačkoliv omezovací prostředky mohou být nezbytné pro zajištění bezpečnosti, pacienti jejich použití často vnímají jako zásah do jejich integrity. Mezi nejzávažnější důsledky patří pocit bezmoci a ztráty důvěry v personál. Tato zjištění zdůrazňují potřebu zavedení alternativních metod péče, které snižují četnost užití omezovacích prostředků a zaměřují se na respektování autonomie pacienta. This thesis focuses on analyzing the experiences of psychiatric patients with the use of restraint measures, which are employed in healthcare facilities to protect both patients and staff. Although these methods may be necessary in certain situations to ensure safety, their use presents a complex and ethically challenging issue. The aim of this thesis is to provide a more comprehensive perspective on the issue of restraints, particularly regarding how patients perceive their use, whether and how these interventions affect their mental and physical health, and how to view this issue from an ethical standpoint. The work is based on qualitative research, including interviews with patients who have experienced restraint methods, as well as an analysis of relevant professional literature on the subject. The results suggest that although restraints may be essential for ensuring safety, patients often perceive their use as an intrusion on their integrity. Among the most serious consequences are feelings of helplessness and loss of trust in the staff. These findings highlight the need to implement alternative care methods that minimize the frequency of restraint use and focus on respecting patient autonomy.
