One is periprosthetic joint infection (PJI), whose risk can be decreased by antibiotic prophylaxis (AP). The aim of this effort was to describe trends in endoprosthetic surgeries of the knee and the hip, their complications and options of diagnostics in the theoretical part. The aim of the practical part was to analyze prognostic features of chosen laboratory parameters on postoperative infections, respectively on postoperative complications. Methods: This prospective study started in March 2020 and data gathering took place until 28. 3. 2022 at the Ortopedic Clinic of the University Hospital Hradec Králové. Jednou z nich je periprotetická kloubní infekce (PJI), jejíž riziko lze snížit antibiotickou profylaxí (AP). Cílem práce bylo v teoretické části popsání trendů u endoprotetických operací kolena a kyčle, jejich komplikací a možnosti diagnostiky. Cílem praktické části bylo u těchto pacientů analyzovat prognostické vlastnosti vybraných laboratorních parametrů na pooperační infekce, resp. pooperační komplikace. Metodika: Tato prospektivní studie začala v březnu roku 2020 a sběr dat probíhal do 28. 3. 2022 na Ortopedické klinice Fakultní nemocnice Hradec Králové. Pacienti, kteří byli zahrnuti do studie, splňovali vstupní kritéria, tj. věk ≥ 18 let, pacient podstupující totální endoprotézu kyčle nebo kolena v období studie a vyjádření informovaného souhlasu se studií.
