Osamostatňování člověka s mentálním postižením

Abstract

Ústředním tématem této diplomové práce je osamostatňování člověka s mentálním postižením. Tento fenomén je zde nahlížen jako celoživotní proces související s plánováním budoucnosti v rodinách se členem s tímto typem postižení. Pro práci byl použit kvalitativní výzkum pomocí fenomenologické interpretativní analýzy. Do výzkumu byly zapojeny tři skupiny respondentů: lidé s mentálním postižením, jejich rodiče a lidé, kteří s lidmi s mentálním postižením a jejich rodinami pracují. S účastníky výzkumu byly provedeny polostrukturované rozhovory. Zkoumaný fenomén je popisován v kontextu celého života člověka s mentálním postižením a jeho rodiny. Výzkum se zaměřoval na identifikování překážek stojících v cestě osamostatňování člověka s mentálním postižením. Cílem výzkumu bylo na základě co nejhlubšího porozumění fenoménu osamostatňování člověka s mentálním postižením navrhnout způsoby, jak jedince s mentálním postižením a jejich rodiny podpořit na cestě k samostatnosti. Zapojení více skupin respondentů umožňuje nahlížet fenomén osamostatňování z různých úhlů a odhalit více souvislostí mezi jednotlivými překážkami. Výsledky výzkumu ukazují možnosti podpory, a to jak na úrovni systémové, tak především na úrovni sociálních služeb a konkrétních pracovníků.

The main topic of this Master thesis is the process of gaining independence of a person with intellectual disability. This phenomenon is perceived as a lifelong process connected to the planning of future in families with an intellectually disabled member. The thesis is based on qualitative research using the Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis. In the research, three groups of respondents were involved: people with intellectual disability, their parents and people who work with people with intellectual disability and their families. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with the participants of the research. The studied phenomenon is described in the context of an entire life of an intellectually disabled person and their family. The research has focused on identifying the obstacles obstructing the journey of gaining independence of a person with intellectual disability. The aim of the research was to propose methods for supporting the journey of gaining independence of an intellectually disabled person and their family through complex understanding of this phenomenon.
