Příslušníci RAF z Mělnicka v období druhé světové války

Abstract

Cílem práce "Příslušníci RAF z Mělnicka v období druhé světové války" bylo zmapovat působení mělnických rodáků v Britském královském letectvu. Tomu je věnovaná hlavní část práce, avšak práce zachycuje už jejich přechod přes hranice Protektorátu a jejich další cesty, které mohly převážně vést ještě přes Polsko, respektive Francii. Začátek práce se věnuje zejména obecnějšímu úvodu, který je zaměřen na vypuknutí války, působení československých letců v Polsku a Francii a poté už samostatnému založení československých perutí v Anglii. Každému mělnickému rodákovi je pak věnována samostatná kapitola, kde je popsán jeho život a válečná zkušenost.

The aim of my bachelor's thesis titled "RAF members from Melník region during the Second World War" is to describe the activity of Mělník natives in Royal Air Force. While this is the central point the thesis follows the subjects since they crossed the borders of Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia, as well as their other journeys that led them either through Poland or France. The beginning of the thesis provides rather general introduction focused on the outbreak of the Second World War, the activity of Czechoslovak aviators in Poland and France, and eventually depicts the establishment of Czechoslovak air squadrons in Britain. Each Mělník native is then further analyzed within individual chapters where I describe their life and war experiences.
