Antonie Novopacká - žena středostavovských vrstev na přelomu 19. a 20. století

Abstract

Práce je historicko-sociologickým pohledem na ženu a rodinu ve středních vrstvách 19. a 20. století v aplikaci na život Antonie Kučerové, rozené Novopacké. K práci byla využita pozůstalost Antonie Novopacké, dobová periodika a primární a sekundární literatura. Dívky byly od útlého věku vychovávány k roli manželek a hospodyň, a proto jejich hlavním cílem bylo založit rodinu. Status manželky byl v té době velice důležitý. Svobodné dívky měly situaci ve společnosti ztíženou. Důležitým atributem manželství bylo plození dětí. Dívky však na toto nebyly většinou vůbec připraveny, na rozdíl od mladých mužů, u kterých se určité sexuální zkušenosti předpokládaly. Cit a sexualita byla v manželství 19. a počátku 20. století spíše upozadněna. Rodina v 19. a 20. století byla závislá na otci, který byl jejím živitelem a ochráncem. Pokud otec zemřel, dostala se rodina často do problematické situace, a proto se vdova snažila nalézt dalšího životního partnera. Žena v této době však byla též nepostradatelnou součástí rodiny, starala se o chod domácnosti a samozřejmě o výchovu dětí, proto po smrti manželky hledal i vdovec další ženu, především pokud měl malé děti. Průměrná vdaná žena porodila v sedmdesátých letech 19. století přibližně šest až sedm dětí, z nichž se díky stále vysoké dětské úmrtnosti dožily patnácti let tři až...

This work is a historic-sociological study of middle class women and families during the 19th and 20th centuries, as applies to the life of Antonie Kučerová, née Novopacká. The estate of Antonie Novopacká, period magazines and primary and secondary literature were used as a basis for this work. From a young age girls were brought up to fulfil the role of wives and housewives and consequently their chief goal in life was to have a family. The status of wife was very important at that time. The situation of single women in society was complicated. Having children was an important attribute of married life, but young women were not prepared for this role at all, in comparison to young men, who it was assumed would have had some sexual experience. Little importance was placed on affection and sexuality in marriage during the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century. During the 19th and 20th centuries families were dependent on the father, who fulfilled the role of provider and protector. If the father died the family frequently found life very difficult and consequently widows would try to find another partner in life.
