Abstract

Svazek Saint Ludmila – Women in the Christianization of Central Europe: Heilige Ludmila – Frauen in der Zeit der Christianisierung Mitteleuropas je souborem studií představujícím práci řady badatelů, kteří jimi volně navázali na stejnojmennou mezinárodní konferenci v roce 2021, pořádanou k 1100. výročí mučednické smrti svaté Ludmily. Celý sborník se v různém ohledu věnuje především tématu christianizace a snad trochu překvapivé roli, kterou v tomto procesu hrály ženy. Nejedná se přitom ani o specifikum české či středoevropské, jak pestrost a rozsah příspěvků ukazuje.

The volume Saint Ludmila – Women in the Christianization of Central Europe: Heilige Ludmila – Frauen in der Zeit der Christianisierung Mitteleuropas is a collection of studies presenting the work of a number of researchers who loosely followed up on the international conference of the same name, organized in 2021 on the 1100th anniversary of the martyrdom of Saint Ludmila. The entire collection focuses in various aspects of the topic of Christianization and the perhaps somewhat surprising role that women played in this process. This is not a Czech or Central European specificity, as the variety and scope of the contributions shows.
