Dominanta v prostoru

Abstract

The thesis addresses the topic of the dominant in space, understood as a relationship between place, people, and the meanings shaped by their activities. It does not treat it as an isolated architectural object, but as a phenomenon that emerges and transforms within public space-an environment that is shared, layered, and continually negotiated. It draws on the author's personal experience as part of the skateboarding community and maps how a dominant feature takes shape, from its physical framework through social interactions to cultural and power-related meanings. It examines how official interventions and spontaneous community activities influence one another, and demonstrates how even informal uses-such as skateboarding-can transform a place into a new, vibrant dominant feature. It also presents the differing approaches of the cities of Prague and Barcelona, reflecting on what these differences reveal about the possibilities of fostering openness, sharing, and community involvement in shaping space, with the choice of Barcelona also reflecting the author's personal experience. Práce se zabývá tématem dominanty v prostoru, kterou chápe jako vztah mezi místem, lidmi a významy utvářenými jejich činností. Nejde o izolovaný architektonický objekt, ale o fenomén, který se rodí a proměňuje ve veřejném prostoru - prostředí sdíleném, vrstevnatém a neustále vyjednávaném. Vychází z osobní zkušenosti autorky jako součásti skate komunity a mapuje, jak se dominanta formuje od fyzického rámce přes sociální interakce až po kulturní a mocenské významy. Zkoumá, jak se oficiální zásahy a spontánní komunitní aktivity vzájemně ovlivňují, a ukazuje, jak může i neformální užívání - například skateboarding - proměnit místo v novou, živou dominantu. Představuje také rozdílné přístupy měst Prahy a Barcelony a uvažuje nad tím, co tyto rozdíly vypovídají o možnostech podporovat otevřenost, sdílení a zapojení komunity do utváření prostoru, přičemž volba Barcelony reflektuje i osobní zkušenost autorky. Součástí práce je výtvarný návrh skate-able objektu, který funguje jako umělecká dominanta v prostoru. Návrh vychází z respektu k místu, jeho historii a potřebám komunity a usiluje o to, aby nebyl jen formálním artefaktem, ale otevřenou pozvánkou ke sdílení, interpretaci a aktivnímu užívání, které samo dotváří jeho význam.
