Abstract

The diploma thesis Use of canistherapy in elderly reminiscence deals with the possibility of using a canine therapy program with elements of reminiscence and subsequently verifying its practical application. The thesis presents theoretical knowledge on the issue of aging and defines the methods of canine therapy and reminiscence. The theoretical part also includes information about the conditions for creating a successful canine therapy and reminiscence program. The practical part focuses on the implementation of an original canine therapy program with elements of reminiscence for seniors in institutional care and its evaluation. The practical material is focused on evoking memories. The main goal of the thesis is to design a canine therapy plan with elements of reminiscence, propose and verify how applicable it is in working with seniors in residential care facilities. Diplomová práce se zabývá možností využití canisterapeutického programu s prvky reminiscence a následně jeho ověřením v praxi. V diplomové práci jsou uvedeny teoretické poznatky o problematice stáří a vymezení metod canisterapie a reminiscence. V teoretické části jsou dále uvedeny informace o podmínkách pro sestavení úspěšného canisterapeutického i reminiscenčního programu. Praktická část se zabývá aplikací vlastního canisterapeutického programu s prvky reminiscence u seniorů v institucionální péči a jeho vyhodnocením. Praktický materiál je zaměřen na vybavování vzpomínek. Hlavním cílem práce je navrhnout canisterapeutický plán s prvky reminiscence, navrhnou a ověřit do jaké míry je využitelný při práci se seniory v pobytových zařízeních.
