Význam denního centra pro osoby se závažným duševním onemocněním

Abstract

The diploma thesis explores the significance of a day centre for people with severe mental illness (SMI). The theoretical part of the thesis focuses on the characteristics of serious mental illnesses, mental health care reform, the concept of recovery, and community services, with an emphasis on day centres and their role in the system of care. The empirical part of the thesis is based on interviews with clients, staff of the selected day centre, and employees of a selected non-profit organization. Through interviews analysed using thematic analysis, the study explores how the selected day centre is perceived by clients, its staff, and workers from other services within the chosen non-profit organization. Respondents' statements indicate that the day centre represents a place of meaningful time use for clients, provides daily structure, and enables them to experience success. Community, a sense of safety, acceptance, partnership- based approach, and respect play a key role. The staff of the centre highlight the importance of daily structure, low-threshold accessibility, and client empowerment, while also reflecting on its limits and the potential risk of service dependency. Diplomová práce se zabývá významem denního centra pro osoby se závažným duševním onemocněním (SMI). Teoretická části práce se věnuje charakteristice závažných duševních onemocnění, reformě psychiatrické péče, konceptu zotavení a komunitním službám, s důrazem na denní centra a jejich roli v systému péče. Empirická části práce je postavena na rozhovory s klienty, zaměstnanci vybraného denního centra a zaměstnanci vybrané neziskové organizace. Prostřednictvím rozhovorů analyzovaných metodou tematické analýzy je zkoumáno, jaký je význam vybraného denního centra pro klienty, jak vnímají význam pro klienty jeho zaměstnanci i pracovníci jiných služeb vybrané neziskové organizace. Z výpovědí respondentů vyplývá, že vybrané denní centrum představuje pro klienty prostor smysluplně stráveného času, poskytuje strukturu dne a umožňuje zažívat úspěch. Klíčovou roli hraje komunita, pocit bezpečí, přijetí, partnerský přístup a respekt. Zaměstnanci centra akcentují význam struktury dne, nízkoprahovosti a zplnomocňování klientů, přičemž reflektují i jeho limity a možné riziko vzniku závislosti na službě. Důležitá je také komunita a neformální prostředí. Zaměstnanci vybrané neziskové organizace vnímají význam v podobě struktury dne, zplnomocňování a smysluplně stráveného času.
