Abstract

This bachelor's thesis explores the interest of selected students at the Faculty of Education of Charles University in pursuing a teaching career. The aim of the thesis is to analyse the motivations, attitudes, and obstacles that influence these students' decisions to enter into the teaching profession after completing their studies. The thesis is based on a theoretical framework addressing the prestige of the teaching profession, working conditions of teachers, and factors affecting the career paths of graduates of education programs. The research part of the thesis is conducted through qualitative interviews with the selected students of the Faculty of Education at Charles University. The research findings indicate that the main motivational factors for entering the teaching profession include an interest in working with children/people, the meaningfulness of the profession, and the opportunity to influence the education of future generations. Conversely, the most common barriers include low financial compensation, administrative burden, and concerns about the insufficient societal prestige of the profession. Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá zájmem vybraných studentů Pedagogické fakulty Univerzity Karlovy o výkon učitelského povolání. Cílem práce je analyzovat motivace, postoje a překážky, které ovlivňují rozhodnutí těchto studentů studentů o nastoupení do učitelské profese po dokončení studia. Práce vychází z teoretického rámce zabývajícího se prestiží učitelského povolání, pracovními podmínkami učitelů a faktory ovlivňujícími profesní dráhu absolventů pedagogických oborů. Výzkumná část práce je realizována formou kvalitativních rozhovorů s vybranými studenty PedF UK. Výsledky výzkumu ukazují, že mezi hlavní motivační faktory pro výkon učitelské profese patří zájem o práci s dětmi/lidmi, smysluplnost povolání a možnost ovlivnit vzdělávání budoucích generací. Naopak mezi nejčastější bariéry patří nízké finanční ohodnocení, administrativní zátěž a obavy z nedostatečné společenské prestiže povolání. Práce ilustruje doporučení samotných respondentů pro pedagogické fakulty a vzdělávací politiku, jak zvýšit atraktivitu učitelské profese. Výsledky práce mohou sloužit jako podklad pro další výzkumy zaměřené na problematiku učitelské profese v České republice.
