Reflexe společnosti 30. let v dramatech E. Konráda, V. Wernera a F. Tetauera

Abstract

The aim of this thesis is to analyse a sample of dramas from the 1930's by three "forgotten" authors - Edmond Konrád, Vilém Werner and Frank Tetauer, and consequently to evaluate whether these works meet the requirements for being socially reflective texts of the 1930's. An important aspect of the thesis is a chapter dealing with the literature of the 1930's, especially with socially reflective works. My initial hypothesis presupposes that in the 1930's literature starts to socially engage. The dramas are therefore viewed mainly through the perspective of social engagement. The aim of this thesis is to observe whether the works by Konrád, Werner and Tetauer are socially engaged and if so, then how it is achieved. The chosen method of my research is an analysis of the individual plays from several identical points of view. The analysis uncovered repetitive thematic and motivic elements in the dramas. In the conclusion of the thesis, I establish that the analysed dramas are highly socially engaged. This social engagement may be seen in the reflections of societal issues and in the function of the dramas to embolden the nation to fight together against evil. Tato diplomová práce si klade za cíl prozkoumat vzorek dramat 30. let 20. století, a to tří "zapomínaných" autorů - Edmonda Konráda, Viléma Wernera a Franka Tetauera, a následně zhodnotit, zda jejich díla splňují požadavky na to, být sociálně reflexivními texty tehdejší společnosti. Důležitým výchozím bodem práce je literárně-historická kapitola věnující se literatuře 30. let se zaměřením na sociálně reflektivní tvorbu. Moje prvotní hypotéza předpokládá, že drama, potažmo literatura, se ve 30. letech začíná angažovat. Na dramata je tedy nahlíženo zejména perspektivou angažovanosti. Pro práci jsem si stanovila badatelské otázky, zda jsou hry Konráda, Wernera a Tetauera napsané v druhé polovině 30. let silně sociálně angažované a v čem tato jejich angažovanost spočívá. Zvolenou metodou zkoumání je analýza jednotlivých dramat z několika shodných hledisek. Rozbor odhalil v dramatech opakující se tematické a motivické prvky. Závěrem diplomové práce zjišťuji, že se jedná o dramata silně angažovaná. Tato angažovanost tkví zejména v reflexi problémů společnosti a ve funkci dramatu jako nástroje dodání odvahy a vyburcování národa ke společnému boji proti zlu.
