Le patrimoine culturel et naturel de l'Île de Ré

Abstract

This bachelor thesis focuses on the cultural and natural heritage of the French island Île de Ré. The first part of the thesis is theoretical, and it opens with the geographical and climatic introduction of the island. Consequently, the genesis of human activity on the island is being analysed with the main focus on agricultural traditions such as winemaking, oyster farming, and salt extraction. These traditions have been passed down through generations for centuries, and their development, the tools required for work, and the challenges faced by farmers are presented. Because these activities are carried out in a highly biodiverse area, attention is also paid to the flora that thrives in salt water and the fauna, especially the large number of birds that find refuge in the abundant salt marshes. Next, the thesis focuses on a crucial part of the local economic profit: tourism. Tourism on the Île de Ré was significantly on the rise after the end of the Second World War, and in 1988, it was further strengthened due to the construction of a bridge connecting the island to the mainland in La Rochelle. Tato bakalářská práce pojednává o kulturním a přírodním dědictví francouzského ostrova Île de Ré. V teoretické části je po geografickém a klimatickém ukotvení ostrova detailně rozebírána tamní lidská činnost v průběhu let. Zejména jsou představeny zemědělské tradice, jako vinařství, chov ústřic a získávání soli, které zde byly předávány po generace už staletí, a je představen jejich vývoj, nástroje, které jsou k práci potřeba, stejně jako úskalí, kterým zemědělci čelí. Protože se jedná o činnosti prováděné v mimořádně biodiversifikovaném prostoru, pozornost je věnovaná také floře, které se u slané vody daří, a fauně, zejména velkému množství ptáků, kteří nachází útočiště v hojně se vyskytujících solných močálech. Následovně práce pojednává i o další důležité části tamního ekonomického zisku, a to turismu. Turistický ruch na Île de Ré byl významně na vzestupu po konci druhé světové války a v roce 1988, kdy byl ještě posílen z důvodu postavení mostu spojujícího ostrov s pevninou v La Rochelle. V další části teoretické práce je věnován prostor historii Île de Ré a významným místům ostrova, například historickému opevnění Vauban, či opatství Abbaye des Châtelliers. V praktické části je podrobněji rozebrána tradice chovu ústřic a výroby soli, a to formou rozhovoru s profesionály ve svém oboru, jenž...
