Automatizace ve tvorbě mapy dojížďky do zaměstnání =Automation in map compilation on commuting

Abstract

Thematic maps of the whole state area represent one of the most important stages in the development of the geographical research in the socio-economical sphere. The map showing the commuting to work presumes new attitudes to the preparation and data compilation. The following problems had to be solved: 1) the application of fundamental typology of communities from the viewpoint of their importance and place they occupy in commuting to work, 2) the determination of the extent of commuting, 3) the determination of individual zones with a marked concentration of commuting to one place. The map on commuting to work in Czechoslovakia (scale 1 : 750 000) represents, together with other maps prepared by the Institute of Geography of the Czechoslovak Academy of Sciences a further progress in the Czechoslovak cartography. A dose co-operation of geographers and mathematicians is necessary
