War of the Austrian Succession (1740–1748), reactions of the masses in Bohemia, song Prague has a King of BavariaThe War of the Austrian Succession (1740–1748) met with an extraordinary response in the periodchronicle entries and in song lyrics. With a few exceptions these songs express resistance to the enemiesof Maria Theresa, save for the song Prague has a King of Bavaria, promising peasants that their‘compulsory labour would come to an end’. The author tries to outline the circumstances of the birthof the song, its dating, and other circumstances.
