Focused on Montenegro and Montenegrins as perceived within the Czech background, this doctoral thesis aims to describe the development and transformation of this image, examining the question why the specific image of Montenegro was produced by the members of the Czech cultural and social elite, and also what was their role within the Czech discourse of the Czech self-reflection and perception of the others.
