Člověk a město - filosofické a kulturně-antropologické aspekty problému

Abstract

This dissertation thesis focuses on the philosophical aspects of the relationship of Man toward the city. The main methods of the work are interpretation of texts connected with the city and a philosophically inspired analysis of the bond of Man with the city as a space and time constructed, inhabited and shared by humans, and with its experienced phenomena. First of all it presents the method by which the theme of the city has been dealt with by scholars from the field of philosophy and other social sciences. We find the theme of the city in the works of a whole range of philosophers: For example, it served J. A. Comenius as a symbol of human situation in life, Michel Foucault as a point of departure for his political-philosophical analysis of power, and Emmanuel Lévinas for his discourse on culpability, punishment and responsibility. In order to understand the phenomenon of the city, observations from sociologists, architects, town planners and historians of architecture are also important. SHRNUTÍ Disertační práce se věnuje filosofickým aspektům vztahu člověka k městu. Hlavními metodami práce jsou interpretace textů spjatých s městem a filosoficky inspirovaná analýza sepětí člověka s městem jako lidsky budovaným, obývaným, sdíleným místem a časem a s jeho žitými fenomény. Nejprve je předvedeno, jakým způsobem se tématikou města zabývali badatelé z oblasti filosofie a dalších společenských věd. Téma města nacházíme v díle řady filosofů: Například J. A. Komenskému slouží jako symbol lidské situovanosti v životě, M. Foucaultovi jako východisko k politickofilosofické analýze moci, E. Lévinasovi k výkladu viny, trestu a odpovědnosti. Pro pochopení fenoménu města jsou důležité i poznatky sociologů, architektů, urbanistů, historiků architektury. V jejich dílech lze navíc najít přesahy do filosofického myšlení, například Bernard Lepetit přispívá k problematice časovosti města pojmem "stopa", Jan Gehl výkladem vnímání okolí a výzvou k uplatňování lidského měřítka ve městech přispívá k filosofické reflexi lidské svobody uprostřed města. Pozornost je věnována filosofii architektury. Saul Fischer dokládá naše zjištění, že architektuře se filosofové věnují zřídka a definuje jednotlivé problémy filosofie architektury, z nichž mnohé se týkají etiky architektů.
