Výzkum je zaměřen na čtvrt Arnaud-Bernard, ležící v historickém centru města Toulouse, na začátku devadesátých let minulého století. Tři aspekty jsou významné: různé vlny imigrace, odlišná jména a ojedinělé události, tzv, repas-de-Quartier - společná večeře, jako odkaz na sociální aktéry. Mechanismus Carrefour-Culturel, hlavního sdružení v sousedství s cílem vybudovat "smíšené sousedství ", byl zkoumán v rámci této práce. Rozhovory a zdroje ze sdružení byly analyzovány. Kromě toho byla zkoumána literatura s cílem zdůraznit složitost myšlenky "smíšeného sousedství". The research focuses on Arnaud-Bernard, city center district of Toulouse, during the beginning of the 1990's.
