Nuptiality in the Czech Republic: cross-sectional and cohort view Abstract The objective of this study is to describe the development of primo-nuptiality in the Czech Republic from 1961 to 2014 using primo-nuptiality life tables. These tables have been calculated to such an extent with the use of the same methodology for the first time and thus their complete mutual comparability is guaranteed. For each period there are selected years, which are then in detail examined primarily in terms of intensity and timing of first marriages. As for illustration there are also mentioned external socioeconomic factors of the given time period, which has been affecting the discussed indicators. The last chapter of the study adresses a cohort view on primo-nuptiality of specific birth cohorts. The development of the cohort primo-nuptiality quantum by age and respective differences are investigated.
