monsters, folk and popular culturePráce se věnuje studiu vývoje konceptu monstruality v průběhu evropské historie. Ve své práci se snažím ukázat monstra jako fenomén provázející historií lidstva od antiky po současnost. Představy o existenci těchto záhadných a tajemných tvorů se v průběhu dějin proměňovaly. Postupně byla monstra vytlačena z reality do světa fikce v literatuře a filmu Přesto si udržela popularitu a pozornost miliónů obyvatel jako kulturní univerzálie. The work is devoted to study the evolution of the concept monstruality throughout European history. In my work I try to show the monster as a phenomenon accompanying the history of humanity from antiquity to the present. Perceptions about the existence of these enigmatic and mysterious creatures in the course of history has changed. Gradually, the monster was pushed out of reality into the world of fiction literature and films, yet had kept its popularity and attention million people as a cultural universal.
