This diploma thesis deals with the innovation potential of private primary schools in the Czech Republic. The work is divided into theoretical and practical part. In the theoretical part, the author discusses the current education system with an emphasis on the functioning of private primary schools and their possible involvement in the process of inclusive education and outlines the specifics leading to the improvement of the educational process. The practical part was based on a sample of four private primary schools. On the basis of semi-structured interviews, analyses of the annual and inspection reports and personal observations the author concluded that the schools are able to offer a more personalized approach to the learners; are able to create a family atmosphere; and are able to involve parents in the educational process of their children. The learners of the examined schools, even the ones with special needs, achieve excellent results in the system of education. Key Words: innovative potential, educational innovations, private elementary schools, quality of elementary education, inclusive education
