Benjamin Murmelstein

Abstract

Diplomová práce "Benjamin Murmelstein" se zabývá životem a prací posledního židovského staršího terezínského ghetta, který se dožil konce války. Práce přibližuje obecně zavedení a funkci židovských rad v době druhé světové války. Konkrétněji popisuje historické okolnosti, které doprovázely práci Benjamina Murmelsteina před a během války a také jeho život dál po konci války a následky, které jeho účast ve vedení přinesla. Dále práce seznamuje s různými pohledy na práci židovských rad a na samotného Murmelsteina.

Master Thesis "Benjamin Murmelstein" introduces life and work of the last Jewish Elder of Terezin Ghetto who survived. The Thesis describes a formation of Jewish Councils during World War II and their tasks in general. In concrete it describes historical conditions of work of Benjamin Murmelstein before and during the War and also his life after the end of the War and aftermath of his work. Also different perspectives on work of Jewish Councils and Benjamin Murmelstein are introduced.
