Information policy, information and communication technologies, Internet, censorship, public libraries, librarianship, CubaCílem předložené diplomové práce je představit vývoj a současný stav informační politiky a veřejných knihoven na Kubě. V první části práce je nastíněn historický a politický vývoj na Kubě od revoluce v roce 1959 do současnosti a zmapován rozvoj vybraných oblastí informační politiky na ostrově. Ve druhé části je analyzován rozvoj a šíření informačních a komunikačních technologií na Kubě, včetně rozšíření internetu a jeho cenzury. Poslední část se zabývá vývojem veřejných knihoven a částečně i knihovnictví.
The aim of this thesis is to present the development and current state of information policy and public libraries in Cuba. The first part of thesis outlines historical and political development in Cuba since the beginning of the revolution in 1959 to the present and introduces the development of selected areas of information policy on the island. The second part analyzes the expansion of information and communication technologies, including Internet and its censorship. The last part of thesis summarizes historical development and current state of public libraries and partially librarianship.
