Během této protestní akce vyjádřili lékaři nesouhlas se současným stavem českého zdravotnictví. Požadovali např. změnu systému vzdělávání, kontrolu hospodaření nemocnic a v neposlední řadě i zvýšení jejich finančního ohodnocení. V případě nesplnění požadavků plánovali podání výpovědí a následný odchod do zahraničí, případně do soukromého sektoru.
The main aim of this study was to describe the media coverage of the manifestation "Děkujeme, odcházíme" ("Thank you we're leaving" in English) in the daily press Mladá fronta Dnes and Právo. In this manifestation doctors complained about bad financial and organizational conditions of the Czech health care system. They put forward several requests - among other things, they wanted to change the system of education, improve the control of finances in hospitals as well as they asked for salary increase. If their requests hadn't been heard, they would have left their current jobs and started working in the private sector or even abroad. This study used quantitative content analysis as well as qualitative content analysis and also described topics and participants that appeared in the articles concerning the manifestation. Moreover it also described the media coverage of the doctors who participated in the manifestation.
