The Breviary of Alaric, Arianism, Hispano-Romans, Conversion to Catholicism, Chindasuinth, Leges Visigothorum, Leovigild, Reccared, The Kingdom of Toledo, The Councils of Toledo, The Kings of the Visigoths, Jews in HispaniaHlavním cílem bakalářské práce "Vizigótské království v moderní odborné literatuře" je postihnout významné společensko-politické aspekty dějin tzv. toledského království.
The main objective of this bachelor thesis "The Visigothic Kingdom in Modern Professional Writing" is to describe major community-related and political aspects of the era of the so-called Kingdom of Toledo. Special attention is paid to the Visigothic legislation, the nature of king's power, issues of religion, the position of the church and the Jew minority in the Kingdom of Toledo. The author did not purport to provide a thorough and detailed description of the history of Visigoths in Hispania in the 6th and 7th centuries; the chronology of the Kings of the Visigoths outlined in the opening chapters is included only to provide a picture for the reader's convenience in navigating through the topics that are analyzed. The author's conclusions are based on the results of scientific research of contemporary, mainly Spanish historians. The sense of this thesis is to contribute to a deeper knowledge of era that was a major stage in the development of European civilization and introduced many priceless values to its culture, to which, however, Czech historiography has paid too little attention.
