sociology of medicine and health, information, health issues in media, mediaABSTRAKT Sociologie zdraví Zdraví a media v sociálním kontextu Moderní vědecká medicína byla do poloviny 20. století ověnčena skvělou pověstí univerzálně účinné instituce. V posledních desítkách let však dochází k demytologizaci této představy, protože zjišťujeme, že idealizovaný obraz medicíny sliboval více, než mohl splnit. Její obraz se za posledních 50 let značně proměnil a do jejího vývoje začaly zasahovat otázky životního prostředí, politiky nebo hospodářství. Diplomová práce se proto zabývá aktuálními otázkami zdravotnického systému, informacemi o zdraví a masmédii zprostředkovávajícími společnosti informace o zdraví. Jedním z důvodů kritiky moderní medicíny je skutečnost, že nedokáže pokrýt veškeré náklady spojené s péčí o pacienty; mezi dalšími uveďme například lobby ve zdravotnictví nebo obtížné porovnávání kvality služeb ve zdravotnictví. Právě média hrají velkou úlohu v procesu "sekularizace medicíny", navíc se pro veřejnost stala hlavním zdrojem informací o zdraví a zdravotnictví. Sdělovací prostředky ovšem plní ještě jinou funkci - upínají naši pozornost ke zdravotním tématům a zahlcují nás informacemi o ideálu zdraví, jehož normy je téměř nemožné splnit a nabízeného ideálu ...
ABSTRACT /ENG/ Sociology of Health Health and media in the social context Until the middle of the twentieth century, modern scientific medicine had an excellent reputation as a universally effective institution. In recent decades, however, this idea has been called into question, because the public has realised that the idealised image of medicine promised more than it could fulfil. The image of medicine over the past 50 years has changed significantly and today it is closely associated with other areas, including the environment, politics and the economy. The thesis is therefore devoted to current issues of health systems, health information and mass media as a mediator of health information. One reason why we will criticise modern medicine is that the Czech Republic can not cover all the costs associated with caring for patients; others will include lobbies in the health sector, and the general difficulty of comparing the country's quality of health care and research to other countries. For the public, the media, playing a major role in the process of the "secularisation" of medicine, has become the main source of information on health and health care.
