Komentovaný překlad: Histoire du chien (Roger Béteille, PUF: Paris, 1997)

Abstract

Práce Komentovaný překlad: Histoire du chien je tvořena překladem dvou kapitol francouzsky psané knihy Histoire du chien (Historie psů; Roger Béteille, Paris: Presses Universitares de France, 1997, s. 25-37, 83-94) a komentářem tohoto překladu. Úvod k celé práci obsahuje základní informace o její struktuře a o překládaném textu a také vysvětluje, proč si autorka k překladu zvolila daný text. Následuje překladová část, která je rozdělena do dvou částí - překlad kapitoly "Začlenění psa do moderní společnosti" a "Pes a válka". Ve třetím oddílu práce je výchozí text na několika úrovních analyzován z hlediska komunikační situace a textových faktorů jako populárně naučná publikace psaná současným jazykem pro současného francouzského čtenáře s použitím dynamizujících prvků. Za analýzou vysvětluje autorka svoji překladatelskou strategii a přistupuje k vlastnímu komentáři překladu. Zabývá se překladatelskými problémy charakteristickými pro překládaný text (vedle systémových rozdílů mezi jazyky jde například o převedení francouzských reálií do českého prostředí a problémy spojené s koncizností textu) a v poslední části komentáře se ohlíží za překladem v souvislosti s uplatněnými překladatelskými postupy a s posuny, ke kterým při překládání došlo. V závěru celé práce pak hodnotí text jako zajímavý překladový materiál...

The work Commented Translation: Histoire du chien contains a translation of two chapters of a French book called Histoire du chien (History of dogs; Roger Béteille, Paris: Presses Universitares de France, 1997, p. 25-37, 83-94) and its commentary. The introduction to the work includes the basic information about its structure and about the translated text and it also explains the author's reasons for choosing this text. The next part is the translation itself which consists of two chapters: "Insertion of dogs into the contemporary society" and "The dog and the war". The third part of the work analyses the original text on different levels from the situational and contextual point of view as a popularization book written in a modern language for today's French readers by using some dynamic elements. The analysis is followed by the commentary itself of the translation. The author treats the difficulties characteristic for this text she encountered with when translating (next to the divergences between the language systems, the question of transposing the French reality to the Czech background and problems linked with the concision of the text are discussed), the last part of the commentary summarizes the methods used in this translation and discrepancies between the original and the target text.
